Extra Curricular Clubs

September 2021 brought with it Alpha's widest selection and variety of extra-curricular clubs on offer and the Lent Term, from January 2022, has an even wider and fantastic choice!

There are sports fixtures against other local independent schools and hotly-contested inter-house matches in soccer, netball, kwik cricket, volleyball, benchball and basketball. There is an annual Sports Day in which every child takes part in several competitions, and a cross-country race for Years 3 to 6.

Children have the opportunity to learn to play a range of musical instruments including piano, guitar, drums and violin outside of their usual curriculum timetable, i.e. during lunch breaks, before school starts or after school.  These lessons are given by specialist peripatetic teachers.

We offer a range of free after-school clubs which include sports, lego, craft and art club, to name but a few.  There are some after-school clubs which are provided by outside companies for which parents pay a nominal fee.

Extra curricular activities are always good fun. There are lots of visits to enhance the work which we are doing at school, and these range from Reception making pizzas at Pizza Express (which you also have to eat!) through to Year 6 having a drama workshop at the Globe Theatre. We also have educational outings each term, including going to a 'local' pantomime at Christmas.
